
PAA will hold a Flag Raising Ceremony to Celebrate Pakistan Day
The Pakistan Association
of Australia, incorporated in 1990, invites members of their Association and the
wider Australian community to join with them at a special ceremony at Sule
College, 163 Kurrajong Road, Prestons on Sunday March 26th 2006 at 10.30 am.
“The ceremony is to celebrate not only the Pakistan Day, but also a time to
remember and reflect on the last 12 months, “ President of the Association, Mr
Shabbir Ahmed has said “We also wish to honour those people who have died in the
Earthquake in Pakistan.” A remembrance service will also take place to honour
those who have lost their lives in the Earthquake in Pakistan, along with
members of the Pakistani community in Australia in the last 12 months.
“The Pakistani community in Australia has strong family values and events such
as these will ensure our future successors will have role models to look up to
and a real sense of belonging.” Ms Wajiha Ahmed, General Secretary said. A
prominent member of the Association, Mr Saeed Khan, Marrickville Councillor also
supports this vision “The PAA is one of the organisations who have played a
major part in assisting PEACC (Pakistan Earthquake Coordination Committee) with
raising funds. Pakistan day will be a good opportunity to reflect and honour
those who lost their lives last October.”
A traditional Pakistani brunch will be served after the ceremony which will be
provided by Mr Imran Butt catering services.
