Pakistan Australia Friendship Association Canberra has Elected the New President
Last weekend the annual
general meeting of the Pakistan Australia Friendship Association was held in
Canberra. The AGM of PAFA’s 2006 was very successful. During the meeting, new
executive committee was elected through a democratic election process run by the
election committee. This election committee consisted of the following members:
Dr. Zakir Rehmani (Returning Officer) Dr. Abdul Hakim (Scrutineer) Mr. Tanveer
Khan (Scrutineer)
At this AGM Dr. Zakir Rahmani officially announced the names of PAFA Executive
committee members, listed below:
President : Mr. Khawar Saleem Khan - Vice President: Mr. Syed Jaffry - General
Secretary: Mr. Saad Hafiz
Treasurer: Mr. Irfan Yusuf - Executive members: Mr. Zia Qureshi & Mr. Afzaal

The new committee has many fresh and energetic faces with the commitment to help
and bring Pakistani community together.
According to media release to Sada-e-Watan, new PAFA executive committee
strongly believes in unity and has complete faith that we, the Canberra’s
Pakistanis and Australian Pakistanis as a whole, can do wonders if we remain
united, keep faith in ourselves and show discipline for our motherland and our
community. We believe that we must work in a way to maximize efficacy and
minimize duplication.
Synergy is the motto for year 2006-2007 PAFA executive committee. Very soon PAFA
will announce two big changes in its future direction and will announce the
dates of Pakistan Independence day function.
