
PAFA held a Pakistani Culture Exhibition in Canberra
Pakistan Australia Friendship Association (PAFA) organized an exhibition of Pakistani Culture as part of 2006 National Multicultural Festival. Mr Sarfraz Khanzada, Acting High Commissioner of Pakistan officially opened the exhibition on Saturday 11 February 2006.
This one week colourful exhibition attracted more than 2000 visitors from local, interstate and overseas. Visitors enjoyed a colourful display of Pakistani art & culture including local dresses, Khussas (traditional shoes), rugs, traditionally carved wooden furniture and antiques, Pakistani paintings, traditionally embroidered linens and many more colours of Pakistani culture.
Visitors also received free Choorian (colourful glass bangles) and Hina (Mehndi hand painting). Colourful Pakistani wedding ceremony was also shown every day. This wedding movie was very famous among visitors.
PAFA would like to thank ACT Government, Department of Multicultural and especially High Commission of Pakistan for their support in making this event successful.
