Pakistan A thrash Australia A by 147 runs in a one day Match in Brisbane

Australia A suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Pakistan A, losing by 147 runs in the opening one-day match at Allan Border Field in Brisbane on Friday 10th July 2009. Pakistan A defeated Australia A by147 runs to take a 1-nil lead in the three game series. Pakistan opened the batting and the writing was immediately on the wall with 19 runs smashed off their first over. They finished with a massive target of 340 coming mainly from the bats of Sheharyar Ghani with 93 and a quick-fire century by Umar Akmal. Australia A were bowled out for a disappointing 193 in the 41st over.

aggressive 104and Sheharyar Ghani added a steadying 93 as Pakistan A easily
defeated Australia A by 147 runs in their opening one day Match of Friday 10
July 2009.
Coming in at No. 6, Akmal notched his third century of the Australian tour in
just 68 deliveries, belting 10 fours and five sixes before being dismissed by
Brett Geeves (3-46).The Australians lost wickets at steady intervals early in
its innings, falling to 85-4 before skipper Cameron White (42) was joined by
Jason Krejza (40) at the crease. The pair put on an 81-run partnership before
White departed and the last five wickets fell for just 33 runs. Wahab Riaz led
the Pakistan A bowlers with 4-37 and skipper Mohammad Hafeez had 2-38.
