
Muhammadmian Soomro Delegation from different countries
A Pakistani Parliamentary delegation led by the Chairman of Senate, Mr. Muhammadmian Soomro has left Sydney for Fiji Island to attend the 51st Conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association. The ten-day conference will run concurrently with the 25th conference of members from small countries as well as the meting of the steering committee of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.
The conference is being held on the theme: " Commonwealth Parliaments in Partnership for Global Development" and will address a number of global issues including the eradication of extreme poverty and hunger, combating HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases and the role of Parliament in conflict-affected countries. The conference will also address gender-related issues by looking at ways to promote gender equality and empowerment of women.

According to latest news, Chairman Senate, Muhammadmian Soomro, who is leading Pakistan's Parliamentary delegation to the 51st Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Conference being held in Fiji, has been elected as the Head of the Sub-Committee of CPA. The Sub-Committee will initiate the process and finalize selection of a candidate for the appointment of next Secretary General of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association. After the final session of the Conference, Pakistan’s Parliamentary Delegation including Senator Kamal Ali Agha will be coming again in Sydney on 11th September. Mr. Soomro has left Fiji & has travelled to New York for another Conference.
