Imam Hasan Centre -
Imam Husain Islamic Centre - Nabi Akram Centre - Dinner with Mr. Phillip Ruddock
Imam Hasan Centre, Imam
Husain Islamic Centre and Nabi Akram Centre hosted The Hon. Mr. Phillip Ruddcok,
the Attorney General of Australia at a dinner last night the 25th of June 2007.
The dinner was to introduce the 3 centres to Mr. Ruddock and outline the
services provided by the centres and the future vision of the centres. The guest
who were in attendance were invited based on their contributions as volunteers
at each of the centres and included the Madrassah teachers, Assistants and
various other volunteers. Also in attendance were the outstanding youth who have
excelled in various facets of life. Most of the volunteers were our sisters in
the community and this was our way of thanking them for their wonderful service
to the community. If you would like to participate in these functions please
volunteer your services at your centres as we can only progress if we work
together.
The dinner was an outstanding success and Mr. Ruddock took the time to speak to
almost each of the guests, this is the first step of a series of steps to
introduce the different Muslim communities to the Australian Government with the
objective to breakdown the stereotypes and barriers that have held the Muslim
community back. We look forward to further meeting over the next few months as
we take a journey of demonstrating that the Muslim community can live
harmoniously in this wonder full country.
