Jashan-e-Azadi Celebration in Sydney

Pakistan Australia Association (PAA) celebrated Pakistan Independence Day on the 19th of August 2006 at Castle Grand, Castle Hill Sydney. The function was attended by more than 480 guests including diplomats & Australian Politicians. Among these were Hon. MP Alan Cadman, Hon. MP Jule Owens, Hon Barbra Perry NSW Parliament Member for Auburn, Consul General of Pakistan Mr. Azam Mohammed & PIA Manager Nadeem Jaffar. There was a variety of entertainment provided throughout the night. The dinner was prepared by Ustad Mushtaq of Himalaya Restaurant Five Dock. Best & Less Travel Parramatta donated an Air Ticket to Pakistan for the Auction & Ayes Persian carpet Edgecliff provided hand-made carpets. The proceeds from the Auction went to various charities working in Pakistan such as the Fred Hollows Foundation. Music was by the famous singer Pinto.
