PM Raja Pervez Ashraf condoles with Australian Prime Minister on the death of her Father

The Prime Minister of Australia Ms Julia Gillard cut short her visit to Russia for the APEC summit after her 83-year-old father John died in Adelaide on Saturday,08 Sept 2012.

Ms Gillard says her father, who worked as a psychiatric nurse,lived a long and full life.She has described him as her inspiration.

"He has battled illness in recent years but his death is a shock for me and my family," she said in a statement.

"My father was my inspiration.He taught me that nothing comes without hard work and demonstrated to me what hard work meant.

"He taught me to be passionate about fairness.He taught me to believe in Labor and in trade unionism.

"But above all, he taught me to love learning and to understand its power to change lives.

                                             "I will miss him for the rest of my life."

Mr John Gillard moved to Australia from Wales in 1966,along with his wife Moira and Ms Gillard,who was a toddler at the time.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan Raja Pervez Ashraf has condoled with Ms Julia Gillard, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia on the passing away of her father John Gillard.

In his message of condolence, the Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf conveyed his heartfelt grief and sympathies to the Australian Prime Minister Ms Julia Gillard and her family and prayed for the departed soul.
