PRESS RELEASE TO SADA-E-WATAN SYDNEY
On behalf of Pakistan Association of Australia and Australian Pakistani community I convey my condolences to the families whose loved ones lost their lives in the Quetta Earthquake most recent on Saturday this week. Almost 300 men, women and children have lost their lives in the city of Ziarat and vicinity, scores of people are injured and their homes damaged badly.
This is second time in the current decade our birth place suffered from natural atrocities. Although this earthquake did not damage to the extent of the last started from Islamabad till Kashmir in 2005 but to us every life is precious and that is why once again Pakistan Association offered its platform to raise funds to help those needed most.
The victims of this quake are not blessed by the international NGO’s help as yet. We expect that it will change soon.
PAA is in contact with families and friends in Quetta since earthquake hit the area and trying to formulate plan to help at the ground level. PAA has also approached the government agencies through Pakistani Counsel General and High Commission to ascertain depth of the damage and scale of the help needed.
PAA will accept cash donations at this stage only to arrange to buy food, tents and other necessities in Pakistan through families and friends initially and intend to expand this help further if needed later.
I as President Pakistan Association of Australia am witness of the generosity of the Australians particularly Australian Pakistanis on the previous occasions and urge everyone once again to help the victims through our organization by depositing your donations to the following Bank Accounts;
St George Bank
BSB: 112879
Account: 028852109
We will endeavour to pass on your donations to those who need the most to the best of our ability and seek your prayers to be blessed by the God almighty who has the right to judge only.
Ejaz Khan
President PAA
