Prof.Ismat Ara an eminent Urdu writer passes away in Sydney

Prof.Ismat Ara,a famous female writer of Indian subcontinent passes away on Saturday 10th December 2011 in Campbelltown Hospital in Sydney after suffering a major brain haemorrhage.She was admitted in the hospital on Friday night by his son-in-law Dr Fasiuddih Khan a famous Sydney social personality and a scholarship coordinator for Aligarh Association of Australia.

Prof Ismat Ara was considered a popular fiction writer for her unique style of Afsanas and novels written for women, their feelings, and social issues. She wrote some very good novels, like Akhari Khat, Kangun, Musafar, Tasveer-e-buta, and a collection of her three novels called "Gulab" also published in Indian subcontinent.She has just completed her last literary work by writing a novel before her sudden death. This novel is under publication and will be out in the beginning of 2012.

She was authored of six novels, and numerous afsanas, (a short shorties) published in episodic format every month in various Urdu digests of subcontinent and are eventually released as separate novels.

Prof. Ismat Ara was moved in Sydney five years ago and she was living with her two daughters and son-in-laws in the western suburb of Sydney. Before, coming to Australia she was a professor of Urdu language and head of the department in Urdu College of Patna, Bihar India. She has been awarded various literary awards from Indian government, including life time achievement award called Nishan-e-Urdu from Urdu Society of Australia in 2011.

Urdu Society of Australia Inc,has expressed his deep sorrow and grief over the demise of renowned Urdu writer Prof Ismat Ara.The President of Urdu Society Syed Ghulam Abbas Gillani and Public Officer Dr.Kausar Jamal in a condolence message to the family paid rich tributes to late Prof Ismat Ara for her literary contributions. We also prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude.

Namaz -e- Janaza was held at Lakemba Mosque after Zuhur Prayer (at 1:00PM) and burial was held at Liverpool Cemetery Sydney.

The Editorial Board of the Sada-e-Watan expressed their profound grief on the sad demise of Mother-in-law of Dr. Fasihuddin. In a condolence Message, Editor-in-Chief Sada-e-Watan Syed Zafar Hussain sympathized with the family members of the deceased and offered ‘Fatiha’ for the departed soul. Mr. Zafar Hussain Prayed to ALLAH Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to her family members to bear this irrepairable loss.

Fateha and Dua' for Fasihuddin's mother-in-law

Mr Fasihuddin  is holding a 'Fateha and Dua' for his mother-in-law, who passed away recently. It will be held on Sunday the 18th of December from 6pm to 8pm, at 72 Bainbridge Ave, Ingleburn Sydney (Mr Jawad's residence).
