Invite to Fred Hollows Foundation Pakistan Function
Dr Rubina Gillani, The Fred Hollows Foundation’s country manager, Pakistan, will deliver a special evening presentation in Sydney on September 5, addressing community and business leaders and sharing her extensive experience in fighting to overcome avoidable blindness.
Dr Gillani is a leader in the field, having headed up The Foundation’s eye care program in Pakistan since 1998.
With the financial assistance of the Australian public and AusAID, Dr Gillani has undertaken an ambitious program to help the estimated 1.6 million people in Pakistan living with cataract blindness.
Fifty percent of all avoidable blindness is due to cataract, a condition which can be fixed with a relatively simple operation costing as little as $25.
Since it began in 1992, The Fred Hollows Foundation has restored sight to well over one million people in the developing world, including well over 60,000 in Pakistan alone.
If you would like to take up this very special opportunity to meet Dr Rubina Gillani and learn more about the campaign to overcome avoidable blindness, please see event details below.
