Assalamu Alaikum
On the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia organised &
celebrated at Federation Ballroom of Hyatt Hotel Canberra, Flynn Drive, Yaralumla, ACT on 26/9/05. A lavish reception had been given to around 200
dignitaries of diplomates, Community leaders, Australian officials & business
entrepreneurs by the Ambassador HE Hassan T Nazer and his wife during 1 to
3pm. Ambassador Hassan T Nazer has been posted to Australia a few weeks back
and earlier he had served with same portfolio in Mexico.
A brief highlights of the reception are as follows:
* Prior to the entry to the hall a memento of joint flags
of Saudi Arabia & Australia have been offer at the reception desk;
* The Ambassador, his wife and his deputy were at the gate
receiving the guests dressed up in their national costumes exactly at 12:45pm;
* Inside the Ballroom special coffee, juices,
soft-drinks, sesame-candy balls and finger food were being served by the
waitresses;
* The hall had the decors of history of the Kingdom of
Saudi Arabia in the form of paintings & plagues;
* There has been no music nor alcohol drinks were
available;
* All opposing groups' members were present including Ali
Rudie and Amjad Mehboob;
* No speeches were given on entire event;
* Main course buffet were opened around 1:35pm with variety
included from BBQ prawn, roast lamb to Pakistani style Pullao and samousas;
* The Saudi Ambassador had been humble in meeting all the
guests and offering guidance for performing Hajj, Umra or touring the Kingdom;
* A great deal of promotional literature was available to
tour Saudi Arabia through out the year.
