Shafqat Ali Khan Performed Live at Silverwater Sydney

The youngest son of Salamat Ali Khan, Shafqat Ali Khan is a master of the Ghazal tradition of classical music. Performing from the age of seven when he appeared at the Lahore Music Festival,Khan has continued to attract attention with his soulful singing.
Shafqat Ali Khan belongs to the Sham Churasi School from East Punjab.This school of music has a long tradition that dates to the Mughul times of Emperor Akbar.This school was established by the two brothers Chand Khan and Suraj Khan. His uncle Ustad Nazakat Ali Khan and father Ustad Salamat Ali Khan, the internationally acclaimed classical singers, from the 10th generation of the Sham Churasi School.
Shafqat Ali Khan began performing at the age of seven. His first performance was at the Lahore Music Festival in 1979. Shafqat has performed throughout Europe with several important concerts in France, the United Kingdom,Italy, Germany,Holland, Spain and Switzerland Geneva Festival. He is a well established performer throughout India,Pakistan and Bangladesh.In 2009, when he performed Australia,the High Commissioner of Pakistan Syed Jalil Abbas Jilani & Syed Zafar Hussain jointly presents Sada-e-Watan Sydney appreciation Shield to Shafqat Ali Khan.
Shafqat Ali Khan came second time in Australia and held a Ghazal night in Canberra & Sydney.His tour was arranged by Mr. Taseer Raja of Parwaz Multicultural Arts Australia.In Sydney he performed on Sat, 24th Sept 2011 at Silverwater. The show was hosted by well-known personality Mrs.Noshi Gilani and Mr.Azam Mohammed Consul General of Pakistan was Chief Guest of this sell-out “Pak-India” musical evening.

Ustad Shafqat Ali Khan presented his choicest numbers that have won his fans from across the globe. The Indian Subcontinent audience really enjoyed from high-quality musical by Ustad Shafqat Ali Khan four-hour programme. Shafqat Ali Khan performed with welcome, he presenting his soulful melodies first and then bringing his act to a crescendo with several foot-tapping numbers,including Mitwa (Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna), Yeh Hausla (Dor), Aankhon Ke Saagar, Ankhiyaan and Dama Dum Must Qalandr, Ali Da Pehla Number.
