SBS Radio Urdu Service will Broadcast Famous Pakistani Singer Shagufta Zia Interview on Sunday 8th Feb 2009
Shagufta Zia, winner of
the "Pride of Performance Award" from (late Prime Minister of Pakistan, Madam
Benazir Bhutto in 1989) and also Awarded "Best singer Annual Award" in 1987 by
PAK TV. She has been living overseas since 1991. Shagufta has been promoting and
Enhancing our Music and Culture proudly. She has a great passion to help those
in need. She is a natural singer and Naat Khawan & participated in various Oxfam
International Charity shows in New Zealand and Abroad to help the victims of
Tsunami and Earthquake in Pakistan. Shagufta stayed Five years in Fiji and got
"Golden voice'' of Pakistan & Pacific" title Award through charity shows for
Heart and Stroke patients.
Over the past 12 years in New Zealand, Shagufta Zia has been devoting her time,
energy and talent for serving all the Ethnic communities voluntary in the
celebration of Independent Day of Pakistan and other South Asian communities.
Shagufta Zia is in Sydney on a private visit. Mr. Rehan Alavi of SBS Urdu
