Famous Poet Shahid Tirmazi's 5 Books Launched at Australia-Asia House Perth
On the evening of Friday,30th of April2010, a well-known Pakistani poet within in the Pakistani-Australian Associations created history when he launched the opening of his five poetry books. The achievement by Mr Shahid Tirmazi Arif is the first of its kind for any Urdu poet. The night was organised by the Pakistan Association of Western Australia took place at the Australia-Asia House in Perth and was attended by poetry lovers within the community along with the guest of Honour, Dr Kausar Jamal, the President Urdu Society of Australia who made her way from Sydney to accompany Dr Tanveer Khan, Mr Zaqi, Nazar Khan, Savitari Devi and Mr Sahir to review the books. Following the book launch there was a Mushaira which included Dr Kausar Jamal & other Pakistani and Indian poets within the Perth Community. The night was thoroughly enjoyed by all those who attending and the function was a great success.
