Skewerz Barbecue Inaugurated by Mr.Azam Mohammed Consul General of Pakistan in Sydney

Skewerz Barbecue - Australia’s first casual dining outlet specialising in Seekh Kebabs and Tikkas is now open at shop 13, 185-211 Broadway, Ultimo, NSW. Inspired by the foodstreets of Lahore and Mumbai, the owners of this unique fast-food venture – Bilal Somra and Zain Moloobhoy – describe themselves as barbecue enthusiasts with a sub-continental twist. They are experienced professionals and entrepreneurs with a history of business success – but none whatsoever in the fast-food industry! They are foodies and have combined their business experience with their love for food to deliver what is truly great food.

The idea of an authentic seekh kebab & tikka restaurant came to them almost 9 years ago and they decided to focus on a very limited menu – 3 types of kebabs. They do these well – exceptionally well -as good as you would get at a street vendor in Lahore. Only they do it in contemporary, hygienic settings using the best Halal Australian Prime Meats. At Skewerz Barbecue, they cook the marinated kebabs on a custom made barbecue grill right in front of your eyes. You can follow your grilled-to-order kebab as it sizzles and cooks under a controlled, intense heat.

Skewerz Barbecue was inaugurated by Mr. Azam Mohammed Consul General of Pakistan on the 29th of March. Mr. Mohammed and other distinguished guests at the inauguration enjoyed the excellent seekh kebabs, tikkas, bhajias, lassi and chai and the consensus was that Skewerz Barbecue serves what is perhaps the best sub-continental barbecue in Australia. The guests were impressed with the custom made automatic barbecue grill and with the automatic seekh kebab skewering machine. But the excellent food – both in quality and taste – is what really pleased the distinguished guests. Every item on the menu was fresh, delicious and authentic.
