A large number of people attended Namaz-e-Janaza of Pakistan’s Diplomat Syed Khalid Mahmood
The Namaz-e-Janaza of Syed Khalid Mahmood Consul of Pakistan’s Consulate Sydney was held at Lakemba Mosque, Lakemba Sydney on Tuesday 05 May 2009. Mr. Khalid Mahmood died in a road accident due to a heart attack on Friday morning, 1st May in Sydney on his way to Pak Consulate. He will be buried at a family graveyard in Faisalabad Pakistan. On Wednesday 06 May, Mr. Tasawar Khan Deputy High Commissioner is flying to Pakistan with the dead body of Syed Khalid Mahmood. The Mother, Son & Daughter of Late Khalid Mahmood have already arrived in Pakistan from USA and are waiting for the body to be buried.
A large number of people from all walks of life, including teachers, students, officers, Doctors, Businessmen, Solicitors, and Diplomats attended the congregation and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul. The High Commissioner of Pakistan Syed Jalil Abbas Jilani especially came from Canberra to attend the Namaz-e-Janaza. H.E. Jalil Jilani has expressed deep shock at the death of S. Khalid Mahmood who was the carrier diplomat & close friend of Mr. Jilani. The High Commissioner of Pakistan Syed Jalil Abbas Jilani on behalf of the High Commission and his own, expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed for salvation of the departed soul.
