Shia Network organised an event to recognise services of overseas scholars

SHIA NETWORK ORGANISED A GET TOGETHER AND LUNCH IN HONOUR OF OVERSEAS SHIA Scholars
The Shia National Network of Australia Inc. (SNNA) is a multicultural, multinational and multilingual umbrella Shia organisation, only of its kind in Australia, active since March 2019. Therefore, its management committee had decided to invite for this event various multinational and multilingual Ulema from Afghanistan, India, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon and Pakistan who are visiting Australia for the Majalis of Moharram 1447 Ah/ 2025 AD.
The first of its kind gathering arranged by SNNA took place in this country on the 12th of July 2025 in Alamdar Association of Australia, South Granville, Sydney.
Some of the Ulema were exclusively Arabic or Persian speakers, so Sayed Zawar shah, the president of SNNA had addressed in Urdu language while simultaneously translation in Persian language was done by a multilingual Indian Alim Syed Rehan Haider Zaidi.
After lunch the formalities had started. Sheikh Hossein Javaheri recited the verses from the Holy Quran. Sayed Zawar Shah warmly welcomed all visiting Ulema. He thanked the management and team of Alamdar Association for their unrelenting support. The Advisor, the Trustees and the management of SNNA was highly appreciated by Mr. Shah for their cooperation and support. Mr. Shah thanked Ulema who were able to make it for event at the request of SNNA despite their busy schedules in the organisations which had invited them from overseas. For the notice of the attendees Mr. Shah referred to a book written by Dr. Alsalami showing all the Shia institutions in Australia. He thanked Australian Muslim Times, the only fortnightly Muslim newspaper which has been publishing news items of SNNA. He added that the paper would be very happy to publish the news by any Muslim organisation. So, he asked the organisations to go for it.
He then explained the need of creating SNNA an umbrella Shia organisation in 2019 and detailed it specific role in the multicultural society which has got 600,000 community organisations 60,000 charities, 100 religions and 300 languages spoken in it. One of the primary objectives of SNNA is to unite the community and endeavor to raise its image in this country to gain credibility and to achieve a representative community status at three levels of the Australian Government.
Mr. Shah added that prime focus of SNNA has been on youth development. It had organised a youth empowerment conference in 2019 with the participation of 88 students from all Universities. During Covid-19 its volunteers has been working tirelessly side by side with the Department of Health, Police and Australian Army by giving away bottles of water, biscuits and fruit at the vaccination centers in various suburbs of Sydney. He concluded by saying that SNNA is committed by virtue of its constitution to uplift the collective image of the community and facilitate its affiliated member organisations to share the information and resources for the welfare of the community and for the youth.

The formalities ended by handing plagues especially done by SNNA for the Ulema, announced by the Secretary of SNNA and MC for the event Sayed Ali Kamran and handed by three host Ulema:
