Pakistan’s High Commissioner Presents Sitara-e-Eisaar to Australian Colonel Andy
The High Commissioner of Pakistan to Australia H.E. Mr. Babar W. Malik, awarded
the Sitara-e-Eisaar medal to Colonel Andy Sims on behalf of the President of
Pakistan General Pervez Musharraf. At the special function in High Commission,
President of Pakistan Australia Association Mr. Khawar Saleem Khan, Vice
President Mr. Afzaal Anjum and Treasurer of PAFA Mr. Irfan Yousaf were also
present at this award ceremony and they congratulated Colonel Andy Sims and
thanked him and his team for the exceptional health care assistance they
provided to earthquake victims in a time of extreme need.
An Australian Defense Force medical team was deployed to Pakistan to provide
vital health care assistance to those affected by the earthquake of October
2005. The ADF medical team consisted of around 140 personnel who were deployed
to provide vital health care assistance to those affected by the earthquake in
October 2005.
