We return to Hashfield Depot with Keith facing more cutbacks due to the global financial meltdown. He has lost people in nearly every department. Melissa has been put back in the phone room, Murray is back as HR Manager and Abdul’s cousin, Habib, comes on as the additional driver.

Series 2 Overview

We return to the Hashfield Depot with Keith facing more cutbacks due to the global financial meltdown. He has lost people in nearly every department and moved Melissa back to the phone room. Murray is back as HR Manager and Abdul’s cousin Habib comes in as an additional driver.

The big thing that’s happening to Keith’s depot this series is globalisation. Amanda at head office has decided to outsource an entire depot to compete with Hashfield. Customers call India to book jobs through the Mumbai call centre and cheap, imported Indian drivers run the jobs in Australia on tuk tuks. She wants to prove that the Indians are a cheaper and better option than Aussie workers “Telstra’s been outsourcing for years and look at their profits,” she says. Her one condition is that Jonathon fires Keith Warne if the scheme is successful.

There are the usual disasters, stuff-ups, crazy driving and familiar faces - only this time there is also the animosity between courier depots, who have constant run-ins and the odd scuffle.
