Prof. Tahmina Rashid’s Book on Punjabi Women is ready for Publication
Prof. Tahmina Rashid is belonging to Pakistan. She is Honorary Fellow at the Centre for the Study of Contemporary Islam, MIALS, The University of Melbourne, Australia. She was Assistant Professor at the University of Punjab. She holds a PhD from the University of Melbourne and was an Asia Fellow at the Department of International Relations at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Her main research areas include Pakistan and women in Islam. She has done extensive work on the role of women in Islamic societies. Her book Contested Representation: Punjabi Women in the Feminist Debates in Pakistan, is due for release at the end of February 2006. Sada-e-Watan Sydney will be publish few chapters from his book in the beginning of the new year of 2007.
