Pakistan’s Federal Secretary Ministry of Narcotics Control Tariq Masood Khosa officially visits Australia & Signed MOU
A highly-respected & honest officer of
Pakistan recently came to Australia on official visit. Former Director General
Federal Investigation Agency and National Police Bureau Mr.Tariq Masood Khosa
Federal Secretary Ministry of Narcotics Control Government of Pakistan attended
international conferences and seminars in Australia. He also visited various
important departments of Australia and hold talk with High ranks officials of
Australia.
In Canberra, Australian Federal Police Commissioner Tony Negus and Federal
Secretary of Pakistan’s Ministry of Narcotics Control Tariq Khosa have signed
the Memorandum of Understanding Combating Narcotics Drugs and Developing
Narcotics Control Cooperation at the AFP Headquarters in Barton. To reinforce
the united stance against drugs and transnational crime, the AFP and Pakistan’s
Anti Narcotics Force also signed a ‘Letter of Intent’ to establish a Pakistan
Transnational Team on Drugs and Crime, funded for the next three-year under the
Pakistan New Policy Initiative.
During the signing ceremony Australian Federal Police Commissioner said,” The
partnerships formed today reflect a strong and united stance by Australia and
Pakistan to do everything within their power to protect people from the
destructive influence of drugs,” He also expressed that this particular MoU
focuses on drug crime, enhances transnational cooperation between law
enforcement agencies.
Federal Secretary Narcotics Control Division Mr. Tariq Khosa, said that Pakistan
is cooperating with international community to counter issue of drugs and
performance of Pakistan in drug seizure is appreciated by entire world. He also
expressed that Pakistan will continue its policy of cooperation and drug related
intelligence sharing, border management and joint operations against drug
trafficking and precursors chemicals smuggling.

Masood Khosa
Tariq Khosa was a police officer who
attained distinction in criminal justice administration on a Fulbright
scholarship from the United States. He did his graduation and master’s from
Government College Lahore and served as inspector general police Balochistan,
ADG (Immigration) FIA, DIG CID Punjab, and DIG of various divisions before
elevation to the new post. Khosa also served as SSP Lahore, Quetta, Sibi and
Gujranwala in the earlier years of his career.
In December 2008 Tariq Masood Khosa was appointed DG Federal Investigation
Agency (FIA) replacing Tariq Pervez who attained superannuation and relinquished
his job as head of the FIA.Relinquishing his charge as DG FIA in December 2009,
he was promoted and made Secretary Norcotics Division.
Tariq Masood Khosa's brother Asif Saeed Khan Khosa is a justice of Lahore High
Court . His second brother Nasir Mahmood Khosa was made chief secretary of
Punjab in February 2010. Previously Nasir Mahmood Khan Khosa was chief secretary
of Balochistan.
