Personal farewell to The Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan His Excellency
Tim George
Dear
Mr Zafar Hussain
Editor - in -Chief
Sada-e-Watan Sydney.
Ref : Australian High Commissioner H.E.Tim George,
I write through Sada-E-Watan, to express my personal gratitude to his Excellency
Mr Tim George, Australia's High Commissioner to Pakistan. His Excellency will
soon complete his term and will return to Australia until a future posting.
His Excellency has served Australia and Pakistan with distinction and has built
strong ties between our two people. I know that because of the fantastic level
of praise and gratitude and the many supportive comments made by members of the
Australian Pakistani community. I also know that because of my own first hand
experience with His Excellency during my NSW 2010 parliamentary visit to
Pakistan following the devastating floods that displaced over 20 million people.
His Excellency is so well connected and respected in Pakistan that we had the
pleasure of his company throughout the duration of the trip as we met the
national emergency coordination centre, local police, the business community,
members of parliament and key political leaders and members of the local
Pakistani people.
So I wish to pay my respects to him, wish him well in his next posting or in
whatever he chooses to do. And I look forward to a Pakistani community farewell
dinner with His Excellency when he returns to Sydney later this year.
In fare welling His Excellency, I wish to welcome on board his replacement
Mr.Peter Heyward whom I have now met on two separate occasions and I believe he
will also serve with dedication. He knows he has a big task ahead of him. He has
however hit the ground running by already building friendships with the
Australian Pakistani community here in Sydney.
I therefore wish both gentlemen the best in their future and look forward to be
with them in serving our Australian Pakistani community.
Yours Faithfully,
Shaoquett Moselmane MLC
NSW Parliament.
