AOA Uncle Zafar,
As a Pakistani born Australian now residing in Singapore, I would like to
firstly commend you on maintaining such a wonderful hub of information on the
Pakistani community in Sydney. It is always lovely to check into your site and
catch up on all the events and news, so well done.
In addition I would like to say how proud I am to see the community proactively
developing a cultural bridge with broader Australia. Mass events such as the
recent Azadi Mela are an excellent inroad to ensure the rightful image of
Pakistani Australians is portrayed. The Pakistan Association of Australia (PAA)
team did a wonderful job with bringing music, dance, food and fashion together
to give Sydney a taste of the diversity which Pakistani culture subscribes to.
Not to mention it looked like a fun day out!
Current events have indeed tarnished the good and respectful name of the
majority of us who take great pride in our heritage and our home countries. I do
look forward to seeing more fresh and innovative approaches on how to further
build on this truth and no doubt Sada-e-Watan will be there report the journey
in its entirety.
