MEDIA RELEASE TO SADA-E-WATAN

WORLD VISION AND PAKISTAN AUSTRALIA ASSOCIATION PARTNER FOR RELIEF

World Vision Australia and Pakistan Australia Association have joined forces to assist the victims of the Pakistan Earthquake. World Vision is working with local agencies in the areas that have been most affected, providing survivors with food, water, hygiene kits, medical supplies, shelter and blankets.

Tim Costello, chief executive of World Vision Australia, said: “The tents and blankets are vital because as the region heads into winter temperatures plummet at night. As well as those whose homes have been destroyed, there are reports of many people sleeping outside because of the fear of aftershocks causing their buildings to collapse.

“We are working to get the aid through despite roads being blocked, infrastructure destroyed and tracks leading to villages washed away by rains.” He added.

Donations to the Pakistan Earthquake Appeal can also be made online at www.worldvision.com.au, by calling 13 32 40 or at any ANZ bank.
