Pakistani Christians refused Australian Visiting Visa for World Youth Day
Pakistani Christians could not attend the World Youth Day ceremony in Sydney because Australian High Commission Islamabad refused their visa applications. They booked their air tickets and were expected in Australia but did not come. Pakistani pilgrims are disappointed & weren't granted visiting visas. "It was just the happiness and joy of it all." But Pakistani teenagers missed it.
A spokesman for the Australian High Commission Islamabad has confirmed the news of refusal visa to Pakistani’s and said he could not comment on individual applications but the general policy was that the applications were assessed according to normal visitors criteria which included health and security tests. The primary reason for refusal is that the applicants have not demonstrated that they are genuine pilgrims or that they would abide by visa restrictions during their stay in Australia.
